This series, begun in 2007, explores water as a source of inspiration and cultural identity. What is paradise? Is it a place, or a state of being?
It is in immersion – in nature – that the quiet euphoria comes. The joy can be transient, fleeting, evanescent…the shimmering of silver green olive leaves in a breeze… the quiet nobility of marsh grasses…the golden crash of light on surf soaked sand. In slowing the senses, seemingly ordinary moments in overlooked places become transcendent, spiritual. We are not always free to experience this Earth as paradise, free in spirit, or free from oppression, but we can always dream.
